The RV-7 is a two-seat aircraft with side-by-side seating. The cockpit is large enough to accommodate two tall people, while maintaining plenty of legroom and headroom. The RV-7 is equipped with dual controls, allowing pilots to fly the aircraft on an equal footing.
FEATURES
The aircraft has a single piston engine and low-slung wings. The RV-7 has a third landing gear wheel at the rear, while the RV-7A has one at the front. The RV-7 is a conceptual continuation of the RV-6. It is similar in appearance, but has longer wings and slotted flaps. Compared to its predecessors, many changes were made to the RV-7 as a result of years of experience in assembling over 2,000 RV-6 kits. The RV-7 comes with a more powerful Lycoming IO-360 engine, up to 200 horsepower, is more oversized, and has a larger payload. The plane also has larger 159-liter fuel tanks.
It is quite a fast aircraft that is able to maintain a cruising speed of up to 320 km/h depending on the engine installed. This speed, combined with the endurance and capacity of the fuel tanks, makes it possible to fly 1000km without much effortThe aircraft has a single piston engine and low-slung wings. BENEFITS OF THE RV-7
This model retains all the traditional advantages of the RV line, such as top flight quality and controllability.
All RVs are capable of very short takeoffs and landings, and the RV-7 is no exception. The sturdy steel landing gear allows you to use almost any runway. One of the RV’s major advantages is to “Fly where you want to go,” rather than being limited to major paved airports. The RV-7 has many common parts with the RV-8 and RV-9, which noticeably reduces the cost of production.
Thousands of RV-7 kits have been shipped to countries around the world. If you prefer to sit next to your partner while flying and enjoying the beautiful views from the plane, the RV-7 is just right for you.
