The R\/-12 is a two-seat all-metal aircraft with side-by-side seats, a spacious cockpit with the pilot and passenger seated in front of the wings line for maximum space and excellent visibility. The RV-12’s wings are easily and quickly removable. The VR-12 is powered by a 100 horsepower Rotax 912 ULS engine. The RV-12 is equipped with a new Sensenich composite ground-adjustable propeller – lightweight, smooth and inexpensive. The light weight empty aircraft allows for a payload of two people at 95 kg, 91 liters of fuel and 19 kg of luggage. The RV-12 has all the advantages provided by the light sport aviation category, coupled with excellent handling at all speeds. Listenable on takeoff and landing, maneuverable in the air.
PERFORMANCE AND RUNNING DATA
The RV-14 interior is designed for a tall crew. Both seats accommodate people at least 193 cm tall.
The design of the aircraft meets the standards for aerobatics (+6/-3G) when flying with a total weight of 862 kg. The RV-14’s enormous wingspan and large mesh flaps make it possible to land at almost any small airport. It feels great on grass, dirt, and gravel runways. Even when fully loaded, the RV-14 can take off from very short runways and gain altitude in densely built-up areas.
The RV-14’s high cruising speed is due to its light, streamlined and fairly compact airframe design, rather than its large and voracious engine. This allows not only a high cruising speed, but also to be very economical at low speeds. The company’s pilots usually fly at 50-55% power, achieving terrific fuel economy. At 282 km/h, the RV-14 shows better fuel economy than most luxury cars and SUVs it flies over.
